CAN I REPRESENT MY PARENT / GRANDPARENT'S HOME COUNTRY?
You may apply to compete for any country, province or state provided that you meet one of the following criteria;
Heritage - If you have a Parent or Grandparent from one of the above, you may apply to represent that locality. Please note you will need to prove this.
Resident - If you are a resident in one of these places (living, working or a student) you may apply to represent one of these places. If you are studying in your country of choice from abroad, you do not need to have permanent residency.
Dual Heritage - If you have dual heritage, ie parents or grandparents from more than one location, you may choose which title you wish to compete for.
Birthplace - If you were born in one of these places, you may choose to represent that country.
WHAT IF SOMEONE ALREADY HOLDS TITLE FOR MY COUNTRY?
If your country holds a National pageant, and you have not been awarded a title as a result, it is at the discretion of the National Director to allow you to bypass Nationals.
If you have dual heritage in a country that a National is not held for, however, you are eligible to apply without the National Director's permission. For example, if you live in New Zealand, and there is a New Zealand Pageant, but your parents are from Scotland (where there is no National Pageant), you can apply to represent Scotland without the permission of the New Zealand Director.
If you have previously held a National or State Title and completed your reign, you may apply to go to International 'At Large', with a different title.
For example, if you have held the title 'Miss Voluptuous Ireland', once you have completed your reign, the title will be assigned to a new Queen. However, you may instead apply to go to International as Miss Voluptuous Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland or Emerald Isle.
If a Queen has been appointed 'at large' for your country, you may apply to represent your country under a nickname title, providing a returning Queen is not already utilising said nickname, or is unlikely to utilise the nickname.
